Great Bow Wharf is an impressive eco-renovated Grade II listed building 

on the banks of the River Parrett in Langport. 

The present warehouse was built in the early 1800s to serve the Parrett Navigation Company for trading salt and corn. However there has clearly been a wharf here for centuries before that; Langport is mentioned in the Domesday Book by the name of 'Lanporth' - thought to mean 'the long port'.

Restored using sustainable building techniques and local, natural materials, the warehouse at Great Bow Wharf now serves as a thriving centre for social enterprise, with café, exhibition space and well equipped conference facilities. The building also offers serviced offices to rent on long or short term lets, together with meeting and training rooms for hire.

The contemporary ambience and spacial feel of the warehouse also make it popular as a community centre; currently it hosts regular Vintage & Craft fairs, a film club, comedy nights, T'ai Chi classes, museum exhibits (coming shortly), and a free book and cd exchange. Informal networking meetings are held regularly for local businesses of all kinds - all welcome - and the Lettuce & Lovage cafe with its riverside terrace serves delicious food with locally sourced ingredients. Great Bow Wharf is a very special workplace, a unique venue for business events and the perfect place for leisurely lunches by the riverside.

Where we are: Centrally located in the county of Somerset, just nine miles from junction 25 of the M5 to the west and nine miles from the A303 to the east.
